Willowbrooke
Farm is the proud home of the
University
of Michigan
Huntseat Equestrian Team
The team members have been
training here since 1999. We started with a small
non-competitive team, and have now become a force to be reckoned
with. We have competed successfully against the University of
Findlay, who are the current National Champions in both Huntseat and
Western, and this is an accomplishment that has never been achieved
by this team before now.
The intercollegiate
competitions are special in the fact that you aren't required to own
your own horse, and you need not give up your riding while you are
attending college. In fact, you may not use your own horse if
you have one at intercollegiate competitions. The host school
must provide all the horses for everyone. You then draw the
horse you will ride just before you compete so that everyone is on
an unfamiliar horse, and has a fair chance.
